Ten Funny 2008 Presidential Campaign Tshirts
2008 Political Tshirts
With the 2008 presidential race coming to a close I thought it would be cool to feature some of the best tshirts we’ve seen since this race began. There are plenty to go around on both sides (republican or democrat). I made it a 50/50 split here so that I wasn’t [...]
5 Uses for a Tshirt
This article is the first in a series I’ll be doing on the Uses of a Tshirt.
Everybody’s got tshirts and they are often recruited to perform functions they weren’t designed for. Whether they have just worn out their usefulness as an article of clothing, or are suited for the task at hand, tshirts can be very handy.
Here’s the list for today:
1. A Rag - After a tshirt has been worn thin from use, and your spouse refuses to be seen in public with you wearing it anymore, the first place a tshirt usually ends up is in the rag pile. Within the category of rags, the tshirt has many, many uses. A few of them are: washing the car, waxing the car, shining shoes (plain white tshirts are the bomb for this), dusting, etc. The tshirt rag is immensely popular with almost limitless potential.
2. First Aid - Say your walking down the street, drinking your coffee, and minding your own business when you come upon the scene of an accident. Take your pick of accident-car vs car, bike vs pedestrian, or skateboarder vs concrete. Regardless of the accident, that tshirt on your back an come in handy by using it as a tourniquet, a sling for a boken arm, or as a temporary bandage. For the ladies, I probably wouldn’t recommend stripping off that tshirt in public to use for first aid. With the commotion it could cause, you’re most likely to have another accident on your hands.
3. A Filter - A simple tshirt can act as a filter to separate objects from liquids. For example, lets say you were changing the oil in your car and accidentally drop the oil plug into the container of used oil. Instead of sticking your hand into that nasty oil you can get another container, cover the opening with a tshirt, and poor the oil through the shirt into the new container. The oil will pass through but will catch the plug. If performing this little trick, be sure to leave enough room in the tshirt to allow the oil to collect some before it passes through into the container. Otherwise you might have a mess on your hands. Now, I’m not ready to go make my coffee with a tshirt but it does have its uses as a filter/strainer.
4. A Carryall - The next time you need to carry some items that are too difficult to carry a lot of in your hands (fruit, nuts, etc.), you can always use your tshirt as a carryall. Simply lay the tshirt flat on the ground, place the items you want to carry in the middle, then pull the four corners up together, and grasp. If you have room, you could always tie the four corners into a knot for added security and to make a simple carrying handle.
5. Dog Toy - You can take either a single tshirt, or a couple tied together, and turn it into a simple dog toy for Fido. Tie a couple of knots into the tshirt to give both you and the dog something to grab ahold of and you’ve got a simple pull toy. A word of caution. Using one of your own tshirts as a dog toy does come with a degree of risk. After playing with one of your old tshirts, Fido may think he/she can play with any of your tshirts. Use this tip at your own risk.
There you have it. Five uses for a tshirt. In the upcoming weeks I’ll be updating this list as I think of uses. In the meantime, I’m sure many of you have uses for tshirts as well. Post a comment and let us know. While you’re at it, snap a pic of a cool tshirt the next time your out and send it to us.
