Tshirtspotters.com Weekly Site Update

It’s hard to believe that three weeks have already gone by since tshirtspotters was born. The site has slowly been evolving during that time and I’ve made more changes for the better. Here’s a summary of changes since the last update:

1. Site Theme. Yes, I changed the site theme. Again. I borrowed the idea of the last theme from my good friend Andrew Pavelski but after having it on the site for a few days it just didn’t grow on me like I thought it would. So, it was back to researching again for a theme that fit tshirtspotters better. It took a while but I found one. It’s called the iPod theme and I like it a lot better. After selecting the theme I took a couple of days to fine tune the way I wanted it. I believe I’ll be on this them for a while.
2. MyBlogLog Plugin. In an effort to build a little more community feel I installed the MyBlogLog plug in. You can see it over there on the right side. It’s pretty cool because if you have a MyBlogLog account it will show your picture and name inside the window when you visit the site. If you mouse over one of the pics it’ll amplify the info in it. Pretty cool.
3. Social Bookmark Plugin. At the bottom of each article you can see a new set of icons that allow you to submit the article to a social bookmarking site. The sites represented are Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Google Bookmarks, Netscape (Propeller), Stumble Upon, Squidoo, and Technorati. If you like what you’ve I ask that you take a few seconds to submit the article to one of those sites.
4. Contact Us Page. I added a Contact Us page that’s accessible from the top menu. On that page you’ll find a simple form to fill out where you can ask any question you like. I’ll answer each submission personally as quickly as I can.
5. Submit A Pic Page. I also added a Submit A Pic page. Since tshirtspotters is all about user submitted photos of tshirts I thought I’d make it easy for you to do that. Just fill out the form on that page and I’ll receive it via email. Once I get the pic I’ll make sure it’s appropriate, run it through photoshop if necessary, and then post it on the site. Pretty easy.
6. RSS Feed Icon. I got tired of looking at the standard RSS feed icon up there in the right corner so I decided to modify it a bit. We’re all about t-shirts so why not have a t-shirt RSS feed icon? I fired up photoshop and came up with that new icon. Now, why don’t you feed yourself and subscribe. I might have to have some of those t-shirts made up.

That’s about it for the site updates this past week. Here’s some highlights of the posts from this past week:

• Play the T-Shirt Cannon Game - In anticipation of the 2008 NCAA Basketball Tournament, Coke Zero released a cool tshirt cannon game where you shoot t-shirts into the stands at fans, cheerleaders, and vendors. It’s pretty cool. You should try it.
• Temposhark T-Shirt Design Contest - Design by Humans is sponsoring a contest where you can enter a t-shirt design contest where the winning entry will be chosen as the official t-shirt for the British electronic rock band Temposhark. Entries are accepted until 31-Mar-08.

Site traffic continues to improve and we had our best day yet this past week. Visitor comments are still lacking so I need you guys/gals to step up and let me know what you think.
