Would you actually buy these t shirts?

Tshirtspotters.com has only been around for a short time. About a week actually. It would be an understatement to say that a new site/blog needs traffic and links in order to grow. But, how far was I willing to stoop to get that much needed traffic and linkage? Little did I know that I would be put to the test my very first week in existence.

I received an email this week from a company asking for a blog post about them and they would, in return, send me a shirt. Man, I was psyched! I couldn’t believe how great an opportunity this was. Naturally, I went to their website to check out their products. What I saw totally floored me. They were producing some of the most vulgar tshirts I had ever seen. I was appalled. Here are some samples.

(I’ve blurred the photos here but when you click on them you’ll see the actual pic. It’ll open in a new window)

Now it was decision time. Do I succumb to the need for traffic or do I take the high road and tell’em to pack sand? It really wasn’t a decision for me. I politely told them no. I didn’t need the traffic that bad. Actually, I do, but not that way. Has the company gotten some publicity? Yes, if any of you know who they are. Did I shamelessly turn it around and try to generate some traffic anyway? Yes, but not the way they wanted.

Now I want to know what you think. Am I making too much of this or did I make the right decision?
